Under the sponsorship of the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM), the Oriental Medicine Research Trust (OMRT) is undertaking an audit of CICM’s student clinic.
Objectives
- Build our understanding of the patterns of profile, diagnosis and outcome of patients attending the CICM acupuncture clinic
- Develop the acupuncture community’s understanding of patterns of patients profiles, diagnoses and outcomes in our student clinic
- Through this evidence-based approach build the reputation of Chinese Medicine in the UK as a serious and effective profession
- Promote interest in research among CICM students early in their careers; future students will be able to ‘mine’ the CICM Audit data bank to yield further results
Progress
We have gathered detailed data from 495 patients, covering 12 Clinics from 1997 to November 2004, and are now analysing this data.
