The Oriental Medicine Research Trust (OMRT) is a charity which performs original research into acupuncture and other areas of Chinese and Oriental medicine, to help build the profile and effectiveness of our profession.
Background and objectives
OMRT was set up in 1997 by practicing acupuncturists with research experience, to conduct research into the science and art of acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. By contributing to the growing body of evidence-based research in this field we aim to help promote high standards of practice within the profession, for the benefit and protection of patients.
OMRT is a charitable trust. It has received funding from the British Acupuncture Council and the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine as well as other sources.
Projects
OMRT has completed its Daobase project. Its current projects include the Outcome Audit project and the Talking Points project.
